1. About

You can start writing a review without signing in. To submit it, you must link a Google account or register with an email address and verify it. You are responsible for managing your account, including your password.

If you are under 18, obtain consent from a parent or other legal representative before registering an account or posting a review.

hotelspecs lets guests rate five hotel-room specs (shower pressure, bedside outlets, Wi-Fi, soundproofing and blackout) and links to booking sites. Operated by Geneura Inc..

2. Content you post

Post only about stays you actually experienced. Reviews are generally published without prior human moderation once we can confirm your consent to the current Terms and either a linked Google account or a verified email address, provided our automated checks detect no signals requiring a publication hold; flagged submissions may be held until we review them. Published reviews may still be hidden or removed at any time, without prior notice, in response to reports, legal requirements or at our discretion.

Public aggregates for a hotel may be shown provisionally from a single published review; while there are fewer than three independent contributors, a notice indicates that the figures are provisional. We may change whether, how and under what criteria aggregates are displayed at our discretion.

You retain copyright and grant us a worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to copy, display, aggregate, edit, translate, quote, transmit and otherwise use review content and structured answers to operate, improve and promote the service; conduct research and analytics; develop products; and provide reports, datasets or APIs to business customers.

For those purposes, we may provide review content or anonymized/aggregated data to processors, partners and business customers and grant the rights needed for that use. Direct identifiers such as names and email addresses are excluded unless separately authorized or legally required. Reviews using our issued incentivized-campaign invitation links are labeled. Contact us before posting about other incentives, invitations or advertising arrangements.

3. Business transfers

If the service or its business is sold, merged, reorganized or otherwise transferred, the contractual position, licensed content, user data and operational records may transfer to the successor subject to applicable law. The successor assumes the obligations in these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

4. Prohibited

Fake reviews; hotel insiders reviewing their own properties or deliberately lowering competitors' scores, even with disclosure; posting personal information or defamation; paying for specific ratings; disrupting the service; any illegal activity.

5. Removal, disclaimer, law

Users linked to Google and users who verified their email address may permanently delete an individual review or their account on My page. Others (including registrations whose email address was never verified), or anyone who cannot sign in, can use the contact form. Registrations made only with an email address and password whose address is never verified become eligible for automatic deletion, together with their data, 7 days after they were last used, and we delete them without prior notice. When leaving, choose to keep or delete all reviews. Both choices delete saved hotels, profile and sign-in information. The license for retained reviews continues. After leaving, self-service deletion is unavailable and we can no longer match you to the original contributor, so we may be unable to fulfill a removal request based on authorship. We still accept enquiries concerning personal information and rights violations. You cannot resubmit for the same hotel and stay month. Page caches and daily aggregates may take longer to update. See the Privacy Policy for records retained for legal obligations, disputes or fraud prevention.

We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of guest ratings. Changes to these Terms will follow applicable law; we announce the changes and effective date and request renewed consent where needed.

Revision of 2026-09-30: this section now explains the links in the "Search on booking sites" section on pages for hotels outside Japan (provided through the third-party affiliate service Stay22) and the scope of our responsibility. This revision applies from 2026-09-30.

We may hide or remove content that violates these terms or applicable law. Ratings are subjective opinions of guests; facilities may change. Bookings are made with the linked booking sites; this service contains affiliate links. These terms are governed by Japanese law; exclusive jurisdiction: Tokyo District Court.

The links in the "Search on booking sites" section on pages for hotels outside Japan redirect through a third-party affiliate service (Stay22) to the matching page on a booking site (Booking.com, Agoda, Expedia or Hotels.com). Because the booking site performs the matching, it may show a different hotel or a list of nearby hotels instead of the hotel listed on this service. Before booking, always confirm on the booking site that the hotel name and address are the ones you intend, and check the price, availability and booking conditions. The linked pages are provided and operated by Stay22 and the booking sites; we do not warrant their content and we are not a party to bookings made on booking sites. Our liability for damage caused to you by our own intentional or negligent conduct is governed by applicable law.

6. Google Maps content

Some hotel photos displayed by the service are provided through Google Maps Platform. Use of Google Maps features and content is subject to the then-current Google Maps / Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. Do not remove, obscure or bypass photo-author or Google Maps source links shown with that content.
